DOWNUNDER POWER SOLUTIONS owns and operates from two vehicles, a fully equipped 2020 Ford Transit 470E van and a 2019 Mitsubishi Triton utility. Having two vehicles allows DOWNUNDER POWER SOLUTIONS to take a vehicle to the North Island for projects when required with the second remaining in Christchurch to service the South Island.
The van is equipped with a large selection of tools and equipment to successfully undertake all LV & HV cable jointing and associated work. Additional to the wide selection of tools, this vehicle carries an extensive range of safety equipment ensuring personnel are kept safe especially on isolated or remote worksites. Creature comforts including cooking facilities, running water and ample space to seek shelter also makes working on isolated or remote worksites a much better experience for all.
The ute is equipped with all the day-to-day tools and equipment necessary for undertaking simpler cable jointing projects along with the necessary safety equipment to ensure the safety of everyone on site. Additional materials and bulky equipment can also be transported to and around site with the DOWNUNDER JOINTING SOLUTIONS trailer if required.
*Additionally, a smaller selection of tools and safety equipment can be packed and sent to your region while working from a hired or supplied vehicle for the duration of your project.
DOWNUNDER POWER SOLUTIONS NZ has imported a 2.5t self-loading cable trailer from Redmond Gary Australia. Below is a summary of its key features and benefits:
Capacity: Can carry most distribution LV & MV cable drums (Max Load Mass: 2.5t, Max Drum Diameter: 2600mm, Max Drum Width: 1450mm, Standard Spindle Diameter: 76mm).
Towing: Can be towed by a standard Class 1 vehicle (Max ATM: 3500kg, Wireless Brake Controller Fitted).
Self-Loading: Independently controlled hydraulic lift arms and chain links allow for easy drum pickup, even unaligned drums or on uneven surfaces.
Single-Person Operation: Lightweight hollow spindle and hydraulic lifting arms enable one-person loading/unloading without additional assistance.
Effortless Cable Handling: Low-friction spindle bearings allow smooth cable payout, with a mechanically operated disk brake preventing drum overrun.
Hydraulic Drum Rotator: Enables controlled payout or retrieval of cable (200kg @ 1m).
Utilisation of Jointing Crew: Free up cable trucks for bigger jobs by having jointers take short/medium cable lengths directly to site.
Incremental Installation of LV Cables: Jointer can install LV cable incrementally as they terminate service/link boxes. This can be immediately backfilled by the developer thus deterring cable theft from the site.
