PETER SCHOLL
Pete started his career in 2005 as an 'Apprentice Powerline (Electricity Supply/Distribution) Tradesperson' with Energex, Queensland, Australia. Upon completing his apprenticeship Peter gained the qualification 'Certificate III in ESI Distribution (Powerline)' and a Queensland Electrical Work Licence as an Electrical Jointer.
Pete continued working for Energex until 2012 when he took voluntary redundancy and began working on various FIFO coal seam gas projects throughout Queensland with Nexus Cable Jointing Services. In 2015, Pete moved to Christchurch, New Zealand, and shortly after started working for Connetics as a cable jointer. Pete became the Cable Jointing Supervisor at Connetics in 2018 through to 2021 and lead a team of up to 28 including cable jointers, line mechanics & electricians. Pete was then Cable Jointing Coach/Assessor within Connetics from 2021 to 2022.
In early 2022, Pete gained Connexis Assessor Registration and had his New Zealand qualifications formalised through Recognition of Current Competency. Peter now holds NZQA 'Electricity Supply (Cable Jointing) High Voltage with strand in 33kV - Level 4' and can assess and award the unit standards of this qualification* and Electricity Supply (Introductory) - Level 2.
In late 2022, Pete resigned from Connetics and started DOWNUNDER JOINTING SOLUTIONS Ltd, now known as DOWNUNDER POWER SOLUTIONS Ltd. In 2025, DOWNUNDER POWER SOLUTIONS expanded its operations into Australia as DOWNUNDER POWER SOLUTIONS Pty Ltd.
Pete recently gained certification with the Fiber Optic Association, Inc. as a Certified Fiber Optic Technician, and has been expanding DOWNUNDER POWER SOLUTIONS capability to include Fibre Optic installation, splicing and testing services.
